I was lying in bed

I was lying in bed a short time ago wondering why I was awake. After a couple seconds, my brain put two and two together and realized that the rumbling noise in the distance was the garbage truck. I’ve forgotten to put out the trash two weeks in a row and I was about to forget again. We’re running out of places to put trash, so I couldn’t miss it. I sprinted out of bed and into the backyard. Over the top of my fence I could see just the lights on this massive vehicle, like an airplane flying way too low, lumbering from my left to my right, and driving off down the street.

Good news? It was the Recycling Truck. Bad news? Now I can’t get back to sleep.
