Let’s say

Let’s say you’re a college football coach for a major school, jeez I dunno, let’s say you’re Gary Barnett at the University of Colorado. And then let’s say you had a female player on your team. And then just for kicks lets say she transferred to another school, and later came forward to say she was assaulted by players on the team, and raped by one of them. How would you respond?

“It’s a guy’s sport. (Players) felt like Katie was forced on them. It was obvious Katie was not very good. She was awful. You know what guys do? They respect your ability. I mean, you could be 90 years old, but if you could go out and play, they would respect you. Well Katie was a girl, and not only was she a girl, she was terrible.”

Hm.

And the response from the president? That she is “very sorry” and plans to “meet” with Barnett. Not that she plans to fire him mind you, but meet with him. Why comments like that in response to hearing that a player on your very own team was raped doesn’t immediately justify firing, I do not know. More proof that Div. I football is only about money. As long as you win games and drive revenue for the school, you can do whatever the heck you want.
