Taco Shack. Oh, how I love thee. I’ve never been a huge fan of the whole breakfast taco concept, but man it’s tasty. I gave Katie a ride to her under-the-weather car and we stopped at the new Taco Shack on Lamar. Yum.

It’s a great way to start your day when you don’t get enough sleep the night before. Ooo ooo, if Xavier beats Texas, and then OSU beats Pittsurgh, and Kansas beats UAB, but wait, if UAB… It goes on an on. Once a year, sportsfans just get absolutely stupid—March is the best time of the year. I was exhausted last night, but there I was, in front of my computer, combing through all the combinations with which I’d win my office pool. 1:30 in the freakin morning, and I’m putzing around online.

Wouldn’t have been a big deal if I wasn’t so tired, but what else would you expect after Chicken Fingers, a burger, two sides of fries, and four Dos Equis? The only problem with 48 basketball games in 4 days is that you can only watch one game at a time…unless you go to Fox and Hound, or similar sports bar. Lifeso, Angel and Eliane joined me for some mediocre food and cold beer. At one point we were watching 4 games at once! Absolutely gorgeous. Yeah, I know what you’re saying. You’re a lazy bum Mark. Thank you for being such a stereotypical American male. You know what I say to that? “You’re welcome. Goodbye!” (I WIN!)

Seriously though, the way I see it I deserved a day of nothing after a day of walking around at the Rodeo. Hours and hours of walking around, eating corndogs and oversized turkey legs, watching skateboarding and BMX stunt shows, cheering racing and diving pot-belly pigs…. Hm. Maybe I didn’t deserve it.

Wait, Friday was exciting! I definitely deserved to be a slob after Friday. Mucho stuff going on. I tagged along with Breanna to a casting call for extras. A pilot for the WB? Count me in! Everything was cool till we found out they wanted us to stay till midnight. ehh……no. The pilot was supposed to be at a school in Wisconsin or Minnesota or something (same thing…) in the fall. It was 80 degrees in Austin, so of course people showed up wearing flip-flops. Not really sure how they worked all that out.

So we said screw it and saw Eternal Sunshine. It was great.

  1. Um, hello? You forgot to mention JOSS STONE and all her hotness at Auditorium Shores! We did that TOO! Man, we were all over the place – and what about the N.E.R.D sighting? You didn’t mention that either (or how you were too chicken to go back and get a picture). AAAAAND you do NOT WIN – creating a hypothetical conversation in your blog so that you can use ‘the phrase’ does not make you a winner. Try again! :p

  3. i had all these wonderful plans to go hang out with famous people and do extraordinary things, but then i ran into two old friends (jack and coke).
i think i ended up yelling at a bunch of people or something. i don’t really remember.
on a side note: i had one of those oversized turkey legs at a rodeo once; i felt like i belonged. until i realized that the asthetic value of the turkey leg belied its actual savory appeal. i’m a much bigger fan of the whataburger chicken strips with the white gravy. or rudy’s sause. or a lot of stuff that’s not white-sticky-rice-paired and asian-derived. …i need to get off of this island.

I win. I am champion of the world. Don’t be a sore loser.

Where the heck did you go to a rodeo? That time after that party doesn’t count…

  7. once upon a time, i was dating this crazy taiwanese girl from houston (now an underwear model). i visited her once, and it was a trip filled with death-defying adventures. from having her firestone tires explode on the freeway, to me running from the cops and earning a speeding ticket, to eating ridiculously sized turkey legs while watching leann rimes at the rodeo, it was a swell time.
