What a week. I’m still

What a week. I’m still alive, and still employed, so I can’t complain. I did learn a lot though. I shall present my findings in list form.

  • Don’t play basketball outdoors in Texas in late June at 3pm. You will hurt for days.
  • Little kids are strange. They’ll bawl if someone takes a toy from them, but they were giggling and laughing during the scary parts of Finding Nemo. (edtior’s note: I had my hands over my eyes. both times i saw it.)
  • If you’re going to a potluck dinner and don’t know what to bring, go to HEB or your local equivalent. Buy a tub of spinach dip (it’s near the deli), and a large bread roll. Bring the dip to the dinner in some beat up tupperware. Put the tupperware in the microwave for 5 minutes. Cut out the top portion of the roll making it into a bowl. If you’re still waiting on the spinach dip, tell your friends a story about how your mom just taught you how to make this dip—it’s your first attempt. Pour heated spinach dip into roll. Serve and accept accolades.
  • If you think you’re going to get laid off, don’t spend time backing up files and thinking up nefarious exit plots—I tried both and it was a waste of time. I highly recommend baking cookies and passing them out.
