I have such a love/hate/love relationship with Chappelle’s Show. Loved it at first, then hated it when it made me feel like a prude, but man I love this show now. I’m Rick James, bitch. Classic. And last night? I’m Wayne Brady, bitch.

It’s hard to find two shows more polar opposite than Chappelle’s Show and the now cancelled Wayne Brady Show. Putting on the Black Republican hat for a sec, Chappelle’s Show is everything wrong with Black TV. It’s crude and “blaxploitative” ala Huggy Bear and Superfly. And with the Militant Black Man hat on the Wayne Brady Show is everything wrong with Black TV. A saccharin-sweet, “lemme shine yo shoes for ya, massa” package that can cross-over to Middle America whites.

Now, taking off my hats cause I don’t look good in them because my head is shaped funny (Trust me. Don’t ask me to put on a hat. I look stupid. Seriously.), I caught Wayne Brady on Chappelle’s Show last night and I almost fell off my chair. Playing off all the stereotypes for each “hat wearer” and it was absolutely hilarious. Seriously the funniest thing I’ve seen on TV in a long time. I won’t ruin it for you. Watch it. Or come over and watch it on Tivo.
